topdown view of palm pillarsSpent some time this afternoon taking photos of the candles. Lots of new photos have been uploaded onto the website, so take a look and see how beautiful our candles are looking with their lovely new labels.

Whilst taking these pics thought it was time to do something different, so I decided to take a photo from the top looking straight down on the palm pillar candles. The result is quite cool I think!

Let me know if you like it too…..

Create A Personal Living Space With A Scensoya Candle

buddha_pillar-small2Create a personal living space with one of our natural wax palm pillar candles.

You can complement a neutral palette with accents of colour all over your home. Personally I like to change my colours after summer and around the middle of spring.

If you follow fashion then you will know that the colour of the season is Emerald green. Lots of other colours go beautfully with Emerald, like our Energise & Focus green candle, or our Fresh & Clearing aqua candle, maybe you prefer the Restore & Balance orchid pink as a contrast. Remember, its all about personalising your space.

Happy redecorating…. By the way we will be at Manly markets tomorrow (Saturday) as well as our usual Sunday stall appearance. Hope to see you there.

Are You Burning A Natural Candle?

Read on to find out what paraffin candles and cigarettes have in common…
cigarette and candle 400Came across some interesting information that I thought was worth sharing with you all.

We know how harmful cigarettes are for our body and environment, but do you stop and think about other products that could be releasing harmful chemicals into the environment we breathe?

It turns out that paraffin candles and cigarettes share some harmful ingredients, so maybe next time you buy a candle, please consider buying a vegetable based candle instead. Read on…

Based on research paraffin candles share the following chemicals with cigarettes – benzene, formaldehyde, toluene, and acetone. Sounds dangerous! So do you want to be burning such a toxic candle?

If you are a candle lover, then please buy natural candles like the ones we make at Scensoya Candles. All of our candles are made with soy wax, use cotton wicks, and they are scented with pure essential oils.

Our natural candles burn beautifully, and you will not be harming your environment, your health or the planet. Every little effort helps.

Celebrate With A Scented Candle

Light A Candle While It's RainingAs the photo says “Good Morning”…. and yes it’s still raining in the Blue Mountains! Makes for a great day of candle-making.

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. Every February 14th, candy, flowers, and gifts are exchanged between loved ones, all in the name of St. Valentine. But who is this mysterious saint and why do we celebrate this holiday?

The origin of this lover’s day supposedly goes back as early as 270 A.D and started with a clash between a kindly priest and a mighty ruler. The emperor was Claudius II. The Christian was Valentinus.

During Valentinus’ imprisonment he befriended the jailer’s daughter. Sharing education and prayer with her, they became friends. On the eve of Valentinus’ death he wrote her a letter signing it “from your Valentine”. The rest is history….

What a sweet piece of history.

Happy Valentine’s Day Everyone.
